Myriam Hernández is a Chilean singer, songwriter, and TV host born on May 2,
1967, in Santiago. Known for her emotive ballads, she's been lovingly dubbed "La
Baladista de América" by the Latin audience. Beginning as a child star, she made
her first appearances in the shows Generación Joven and La Pandilla, later
landing a small role in the soap opera De Cara al Mañana. Her music career took
off with her 1988 self-titled debut album and the hit single "El Hombre Que Yo
Amo," which peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Hot Latin Tracks in 1989.
