The J-pop girl group NGT48 was formed in 2005 in Niigata, Japan. With producer
Yasushi Akimoto serving as the group's producer and mentor, NGT48 began
performing locally in 2016. The group's original lineup also appeared in a
live-action TV adaptation of the video game series Higurashi When They Cry,
which aired that same year. NGT48's debut single, "Seishun Dokei," was released
in April 2017 and became a Number 1 hit on both the Oricon Singles Chart and the
