Founded in 1977 in New York City, Odyssey is a soul and disco group that was
formed by members of the Lopez Sisters (Carmen, Louise, and Lillian), a family
act that had existed since the late 1960s. Performing in small New York clubs
and at weddings and parties, the Virgin Islands-born Lopez Sisters finally fell
apart in the mid-‘70s when Carmen left the trio. Lillian and Louise Lopez
decided on a change of musical direction and brought in Filipino vocalist and
