A craftsman of rigorous economy of means, voice and guitar, Spaniard Paco Ibañez
put his talent at the service of the greatest Spanish-language poets, such as
Federico Garcia Lorca and Luis de Gongora, on his first album, Paco Ibañez 1,
released in 1964. Banned from France by the Franco regime in 1971, Ibañez
settled in France before returning to his homeland in 1990. This interpreter of
Georges Brassens in Spanish released an album of José Agustín Goytisolo's poems
in 2004. In 2008, he paid tribute to all the great Andalusian poets with Paco
Ibañez Canta a los Poetas Andaluces.
