Englishman Photek is one of the great names in drum & bass, a genre to which he
gave one of his masterpieces in 1997 with Modus Operandi. Photek started out
around 1992, with a style initially influenced by ambient. His conversion to
drum & bass made him an important figure in the movement, Photek releasing
Solaris (2000) after Modus Operandi. Based in Los Angeles (California), Photek
didn't confine himself to drum & bass, reaching number one on the Billboard
