A French reggae singer with a controversial past, Pierpoljak (born Pierre
Villement in 1964) is one of the forerunners of this musical movement on the
French scene. Pierpoljak first triumphed in 1998 with Kingston Karma and its
string of hits. Je Fais C'que J'veux in 2000 earned him a Victoire de la musique
award. Subsequent albums were less glorious, and his real credibility began to
be questioned. Pierpoljak decided to set the record straight in 2010 with
Légendaire Sérénade, a return to his roots. Pierpoljak returns in 2015 as
General Indigo.
