American pop star Rachel Platten, who scored an international hit with the
anthemic “Fight Song”, was born May 20, 1981 in New York, New York. While she
played piano and guitar growing up, she did not seriously consider a career in
music until college when she sang in a friend’s band at a major music
competition in Trinidad and Tobago. After moving back to New York she performed
regularly and began making connections which led to 2011’s Be Here, which
