Pianist, composer, musicologist, and conductor Robert Levin was born in
Brooklyn, New York on October 13, 1947. Educated at Brooklyn Friends School and
Andrew Jackson High School, he spent a year in Paris studying with Nadia
Boulanger, before attending Harvard University, where, in 1968, he received the
Bachelor of Arts degree for his thesis on Mozart's unfinished works, of which he
was to become a world-renowned specialist. He continued his training, taking
