Rotting Christ
Rotting Christ is a metal band founded in Athens in 1987. The Greek rockers
initially released several demos. This was followed by split EPs The Other Side
of Life (1989) with Yhorypansi and Rotting Christ / Monumentum (1991) with Sound
Pollution. During this time, the band was still strongly oriented towards
grindcore. The demo album Satanas Tedeum was released in 1989. This marked a
decisive change in the band's style towards black metal and gothic metal.
Influences include Venom, Possessed, Celtic Frost and Bathory. In 1993, Rotting
Christ released their debut album Thy Mighty...
