Roberto Antonio Pérez Herrera, widely recognized by his stage name Rubby Pérez,
is a Dominican merengue singer. He was born on March 8, 1956, in Bajos de Haina,
Dominican Republic. Initially dreaming of a career in baseball, a life-altering
car accident redirected his path towards music. Rubby Pérez honed his craft at
the National Conservatory of Santo Domingo, eventually joining school groups
like the Choir Youth Guidance Society and The Youth of Bani in 1978, and later
