Sen Morimoto was born in Kyoto, Japan, and grew up in Massachusetts before moving to Chicago. A multi-instrumentalist, he began his musical journey playing the saxophone at age ten. In 2018, Morimoto released his debut album, Cannonball!, blending jazz, rap, and indie influences. His self-titled second album followed in 2021, showcasing his evolving style.

In 2023, Morimoto released his third album, Diagnosis, which addresses systemic societal issues like capitalism and climate change. The album was born out of his disillusionment with the music industry and explores urgent themes through a fusion of jazz, rap, and neo-soul. Morimoto has been an active part of Chicago’s music scene, collaborating with artists like Kaina and Nnamdi Ogbonnaya. He is co-owner of Sooper Records.
