Shantel
German DJ and producer born Stefan Hantel in 1968, Shantel opened the Lissania
Club in Frankfurt and released his trip-hop-tinged debut album Club Guerilla in
1995. After a number of purely techno productions, the artist found his own
style, blending Balkan music with electro on the albums Disko Partizani,
released in 2007, and Planet Paprika, in 2009. He then teamed up with Israeli
artist Oz Almog to produce Kosher Nostra Jewish Gangsters Greatest Hits, with
its flavour of reto jazz overlaid with Yiddish chants. The albums Anarchy +
