Defying the traditional conceptions of religious music, the Christian rock band Silent Planet celebrate its beliefs amid a bombast of heavy, screeching hardcore thunder. Led by frontman Garrett Russell and guitarist Spencer Keene, the group formed in Los Angeles, California, in 2009. The musicians united around a love of groups like Dillinger Escape Plan, Refused, Burning Bridges, and Underoath, as well as a shared sense of purpose driven by their faith.
