Soulfly
Soulfly are an American thrash metal act who combine formulaic death metal with
Brazilian tribal music. The unusual musical combination came about because the
band's founder, frontman and rhythm guitarist Max Cavalera, was the lead singer
in Brazilian thrash metal exponents Sepultura. With such an unlikely mix of
influences within a relatively narrow genre, the first six studio albums
released by the band all made it into the Billboard 200 with their second album,
'Primitive' peaking at number 32.
