It took nearly a decade of touring before the alternative rock band Splender
finally released their first album. In 1990, frontman Waymon Boone joined forces
with bass player James Cruz. Based in New York City, they added and dropped
several additional members before the core lineup of Splender solidified with
Jonathan Svec as their lead guitarist and Marc Slutsky on drums. After signing
