Steel Panther
A comedy heavy metal band that formed to send-up the greatest and most cliched
aspects of the canon, the group was formed by Ralph Saenz, Darren Leader, Travis
Haley and Russ Parrish and took a variety of names before settling on Steel
Panther. The band actually has its own fake history, pretending to have missed
out on its big break in the 1980s and turning to playing the club shows on
Sunset Strip under the name of Metal Shop. Sporting the uniform of rock
dinosaurs, including huge hair, lashings of spandex and overloading on leather,
