Making his name in the 1960s as an A&R man, producer and songwriter, Steve
Tyrell worked with Linda Ronstadt, Dionne Warwick and B.J. Thomas before taking
to the mic himself to become a suave, romantic crooner and renowned performer of
the 'Great American Songbook'.
Growing up in his father's grocery store in Houston, Texas, Tyrell sang in high
school bands and had local hits in his teens before heading to New York at the
age of 18, working as a staff producer and promotions man for Scepter Records.
