Tahiti 80, a French indie pop band formed in 1992 in Rouen, was established by
Xavier Boyer, Pedro Resende, Médéric Gontier, and Sylvain Marchand. The band
emerged from a university project at the University of Rouen, initially
comprising just Boyer and Resende. They named themselves after a vintage t-shirt
from 1980. Their early work culminated in a self-produced EP titled 20 Minutes
(1996), leading to their signing with French label Atmospheriques. The band
