The HU
The Hu combine traditional Mongolian music with western rock and heavy metal.
Vocalist Gala utilises traditional throat singing over an incessant beat and
Mongolian folk instruments. Formed in 2016 under the influence of producer
Dashdondog 'Dashka' Bayarmagnai, the band play 'Hunnu rock' - Hunnu being the
old Mongolian empire and the word 'Hu' being the root of the Mongolian word for
'human being'. All the band's members have degrees in music. They have toured in
Asia and America and been honoured at home for promoting Mongolian culture.
