The Jesus Lizard
The Jesus Lizard is one of the leading alternative noise rock bands of the
1990s. The Austin, Texas-based band, formed in 1987 around singer David Yow,
also includes Duane Denison (guitar), David Wm. Sims (bass) and Mac McNeilly
(drums). Although they didn't belong to the grunge family, their noisy, creative
rock earned them critical acclaim, while audiences delighted in their frontman's
chaotic performances. Pure (1989), the band's first EP relocated to Chicago, was
