American singer-songwriter and guitarist Marcus King, who was born in 1996 the son of blues-gospel star Marvin King with whom he performed as a teenager, formed his self-titled band in Greenville, South Carolina in 2015 with a debut release that year titled 'Soul Insight' which reached number eight on Billboard's Blues Albums chart. The band's line-up features drummer Jack Ryan, bassist Stephen Campbell, keyboard player Matt Jennings, saxophonist Dean Mitchell and Justin Johnson on the trumpet and trombone.
