The Modern Lovers
Formed around composer/guitarist/vocalist Jonathan Richman, The Modern Lovers'
garage rock reflects the candid personality of its author. Their first album,
The Modern Lovers (1976), has since developed a cult following ("Roadrunner",
"Pablo Picasso"). In 1977, a different line-up was at work on Jonathan Richman &
the Modern Lovers and Rock'N'Roll With the Modern Lovers ("Egyptian Reggae").
The Boston band was recalled between two solo albums by its leader, for It's
