The Postal Service was the name of an American pop, dance and electronic band formed in 2001 by musician Jimmy Tamborello, formerly of Dntel and Figurine, singer-guitarist Ben Gibbard, formerly of Death Cab for Cutie, and singer Jenny Lewis, formerly of Rilo Kiley. They released one album, 'Give Up' (2004), which went to number one on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums Chart, number three on the Independent Albums Chart and number 54 on the Billboard 200.
