半崎美子
(Yoshiko Hanzaki)
Singer, songwriter and pianist Yoshiko Hanzaki has been singing in shopping
centres throughout Japan for 17 years. She is known as the 'Diva of the Mall'.
She has performed at over 200 different shopping centres in Japan and Taiwan to
large audiences. After her performances she talks to shoppers, who sometimes
queue for up to three hours to speak to her. She uses the stories they tell her
to compose new songs. Hanzaki's first seven-track EP 'Kazaranai Ai' was released
in 2009, and from it the singles 'Shissou Kyuukei' and 'Yume Nobori' were both
