Colombian singer, songwriter and percussionist Yuri Buenaventura (born Yuri
Bedoya in 1961) has retained from his Parisian humanities a passion for French
chanson, which led to his successful 1996 cover of Jacques Brel's "Ne me quitte
pas" (certified gold disc). His next five albums received rave reviews in
France, making him the most French of salsa singers. He performed duets with
Faudel, Berry and Olivia Ruiz, and wrote the music for the film Ma femme
